Our story

How the Fantastic World began

Portuguese tinned fish once came in festive, colourful labels full of life — a tradition that faded over time. The Fantastic World of the Portuguese Sardine was dreamed up by Comur, a cannery in Murtosa founded in 1942, to bring that joy back.

Today it is Portugal's passport for tinned fish: an experience that uses the fantastic as its path, amazement as its attraction and history as its story — told in tins, and in shops from Lisbon to Times Square.
